Strengthened relationships and teamwork among School Committee members to maximize each individual member’s contributions
-
Improved efficiency and transparency through institutionalizing hybrid meetings and strengthening School Committee governance
-
Lead the creation of an Evaluation Subcommittee to introduce Milton's first-ever clear process for evaluating our Superintendent
-
-
Additional highlights of my service on School Committee include:
-
Successfully bargaining a new union contract that valued our educators and made our district more competitive
-
Creating community forums to engage with public input on our 2022-2027 strategic plan to prioritize safe and supportive schools, equity in learning, and personalized learning for academic excellence
-
Leading with an open mind and genuine desire to connect with and learn from members of our community, even when we might disagree
-
MY PROMISE
If re-elected, my priorities will include:
-
Continue to partner with Superintendent Dr. Burrows and the MPS Leadership Team, so they can successfully implement the priorities identified this year through a thorough process of community input, with a focus on academic excellence for all students
-
Build the new school we need to address our longstanding and persistent problem of overcrowding
-
Advocate for the town to properly invest in our schools, so we can achieve financial sustainability and improve our per pupil spending relative to peer communities
-
Bring a pragmatic, problem-solving and values-driven approach to bargaining our next contracts again next year, so we can support our educators, be competitive, and continue to evolve as a district
-
Sustain the effort to make all district decisions and investments through a lens of inclusion and equity, so we can finally close our opportunity gaps and ensure that every student is able to thrive in Milton Public Schools
-
Complete the comprehensive review and updating of School Committee policies that we have begun this year, so our policy manual consistently reflects our 21st century context
